Scott Morton, a transfer from Ventura Community College, left his mark on the Briar Cliff baseball program in just two seasons of play. In his first season at the Cliff, he received second team All-American honors and in his senior season he was named a first team All-American. 

Morton was named the GPAC Player of the Year and first team all-conference in both of his seasons in the Blue and Gold. In his junior year Morton was named to the conference’s Gold Glove Team. 

Morton’s senior season saw him lead the GPAC in on-base percentage (.511%) and slugging percentage (.804). He was second in the conference and seventh in the NAIA in batting average (.413). Morton ranked second in the conference in RBIs, doubles, home runs and was fourth with 76 hits. The Chargers posted a 32-23 (14-6 GPAC) record. Morton was also a NAIA Scholar-Athlete in 2016.

Following his graduation from Briar Cliff, Morton signed with the Windy City Thunderbolts of the Frontier League.
