Kevin Capece graduated from Briar Cliff in 1997. The four-year starter at first base was a two-time team captain. He earned all-district/all-section honors and was the recipient of team's prestigious Chuck Adamson Award (MVP). He finished his playing career ranked first all-time in base hits (262), doubles (49), RBI (177) and fielding percentage (.989). He also scored 153 runs and had 24 career homeruns, including a pair of grand slams. Capece hit .400 as a senior and .337 for his career with a career slugging percentage of .493. He helped the Chargers to 168 wins, the most during any four-year stretch in school history and still owns the school record for at-bats in a career with 777.
