Eddie Warren, a native of Panama City, Panama, played on three NAIA District 15 championship teams that posted an overall record of 80-31. The 6'4 forward led the Chargers in scoring during each of his four seasons and finished his career in 1978 as the school's all-time scoring leader with 1,932 points. He scored a career-high 41 points against St. Ambrose on January 24, 1976. A four-time NAIA All-District 15 selection and three-time Charger MVP, Warren earned second-team NAIA All-American honors his senior year. In 1978, Warren was named co-recipient of the George Clarkson Award. The first of three Chargers to earn the honor, Warren shared the award with Graceland's Ian Davis. The popular Warren was crowned the school's homecoming king in 1978.
Warren became the first Briar Cliff cager to be selected in the NBA draft when he was chosen in the sixth round by the New York Knicks.
