Jeff Donaldson, a 1987 graduate, participated in basketball and golf at Briar Cliff, after graduating from Sioux City North High School. He was one of 10 players named to Briar Cliff's twenty-fifth anniversary all-star basketball team, finishing his career as the Chargers' thirteenth all-time leading scorer (1,060 points) and twelfth all-time leading rebounder (541). A four-year starter for Coach Ray Nacke, Donaldson also finished his career as the all-time leader in career assists (459) and three-point field goals in a game (7). He earned all-NAIA District 15 honors and all-Iowa NAIA Conference honors as a senior. He was also named team captain that year.
Donaldson was named the Chargers' recipient of the Dennis Bittner Memorial Scholarship, and in 1992 he received the college's Young Alumnus Award.
