Dan McDermott coached the Charger baseball team from 1988-97, producing a career record of 345-181 for a winning percentage of .656. In his nine seasons, Briar Cliff won four district championships. His 1992-97 teams were consistently ranked in the NAIA Baseball Top 20 rankings and eight of his nine teams posted winning seasons with at least 30 victories. McDermott was named district Coach of the Year five times and Regional Coach of the Year three times. He coached three first-team All-Americans, three Midwest Region Players of the Year, seven Academic All-Americans and two GTE Academic All-Americans during his tenure. He also coached numerous All-District and All-Region selections. Following his time at BC, McDermott has coached at Regis University in Denver and Academy of Arts University in San Francisco. He left as the winningest coach in program history at both institutions.
