Cheryl Dreckman - A native of Marcus, Iowa, Dreckman had an illustrious four-year career at the Cliff. The 5-8 guard became the college's first female athlete to be cited as a three-time National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-American. A two-time Kodak All-American and three-time NAIA District 15 Player of the Year, Dreckman finished her career as the state of Iowa's all-time collegiate leading scorer with 3,248 points. She became only the third player in the history of Iowa women's collegiate basketball to score 3,000 points. Dreckman sparkled as an all-round player, setting single-season and career marks in both assists (219, 748) and steals (148, 495), and finished second on the school's all-time rebounding chart with 897 caroms. She matched single-game marks in both assists (13) and steals (11). Dreckman also graduated with the single-season and career marks in both free throws (222, 740) and field goals (325, 1,202). During Dreckman's career, Coach Cindy Tudehope's Chargers compiled an overall record of 87-36 and advanced to the NAIA District 15 championship game in both 1989 and 1990. Dreckman led the team in scoring each year, averaging 23.1 ppg as a freshman, 26.9 ppg as a sophomore, 28.3 ppg as a junior and 27.3 ppg as a senior. She led the team in rebounding as both a sophomore (8.4 rpg) and junior (8 rpg). Dreckman was a three-time NAIA National Player of the Week and accomplished the rare feat as a sophomore of earning the honor twice in one season. She was named all-conference, all-district and Kodak all-district in each of her four seasons. Her jersey, #32, was retired on February 17, 1990
