Dave Pogge graduated from Briar Cliff in 2004. He was a two-time NAIA All-American and NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete. He was Briar Cliff's first four-time national qualifier and first two-time wrestling all-American. Pogge was named the GPAC's Most Outstanding Wrestler in 2003 and finished seventh in the nation in both 2003 and 2004. Pogge set the school record for wins in a season with 29 as both a junior and senior, finishing his career as the school record holder with 96 wins. He was the recipient of the NAIA Champions of Character Award at the NAIA National Wrestling Championships, senior year. He was also Briar Cliff's representative for the NAIA Dr. LeRoy Walker Champions of Character Award.
