Hall of Fame
Dr. Gerald McGowan served as Briar Cliff's longtime team physician, providing care and physicals for countless Briar Cliff student-athletes. He served on the Briar Cliff Board of Trustees from 2000 until 2009. He has graciously and generously supported Catholic education and athletics and has lived the values of a true Champion of Character. Over the years, Dr. McGowan has held several board positions for local organizations and has received numerous accolades, including Briar Cliff's Alumni Family Award in 2007. He organized and served as president of the Sioux City Family Practice Residency and continues to practice medicine and teach as a family practitioner He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and remains active in his church and with the Knights of Columbus.
