Julie Oswald-Anderson played both softball and volleyball while at Briar Cliff. She was a three-time GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-American, becoming the first BC athlete to be cited as a two-time first-team selection. She was a three-time GTE All-Academic District VII College Division team member and also an NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete. In volleyball, she was a four-year starter who earned All-District 15, All-District Scholar Athlete, All-Conference, and team MVP on three occasions. She earned both district and national player of the week honors and was 1992 recipient of the NAIA A.O. Duer Scholarship Award. She finished her volleyball career with 1,356 kills, 113 service aces, 213 blocks and serving and passing percentages of 96.3 and 93, respectively.
In softball, Anderson was a four year starter. She earned All-Conference honors each season and was a three-time first-team All-District selection. She was twice named and All-District Scholar-Athlete, team MVP and Golden Glove recipient. As a freshman, Anderson paced the team in runs, homeruns, RBI, stolen bases and slugging percentage. As a sophomore, she led the team in stolen bases. As a junior, she led the team in triples, RBI, stolen bases and slugging and fielding percentages. As a senior, she led the team in hits, triples, RBI, stolen bases, hitting percentage, slugging percentage and fielding percentage. Her team best .398 batting average as a senior, is the fourth-best single-season total in BC history. The center fielder finished her career with a .339 batting average, .496 slugging percentage, 109 runs, 162 hits, 93 RBI, 24 doubles, 15 triples and seven homeruns. The team sported a four-year record of 103-59 with Anderson on the squad. She graduated as the school record holder for steals in a season (17) and career (52).
