She earned team most valuable player honors as a sophomore and senior and was named best offensive player in each of her first three seasons. During Schroeder's volleyball career, Briar Cliff won four Io-Kota Conference titles while compiling a record of 57-3. The Lady Chargers placed third in the AIAW state tournament her freshman year and second the following fall. BC won the AIAW state championship during Schroeder's junior and senior seasons. The Lady Chargers were one of 16 teams to compete in the AIAW national tournament in Los Angeles during Schroeder's junior year.

Schroeder played three basketball seasons under Head Coach Sister Annette George before completing her collegiate career under Colleen Wight. Schroeder was voted the team's best defensive player in each of her last three seasons and was named the team most valuable her junior and senior year. She earned second-team all-Io-Kota Conference honors as a sophomore and was a first-team pick as a junior and senior. Schroeder averaged 11.4 points and 9.9 rebounds as a senior when BC finished 17-5 overall and won the Io-Kota Conference championship. She ranked second behind Mary Schrad in rebounding as a freshman, but led the Lady Chargers in that category in each of the three following seasons.
