Box Score 2 The Briar Cliff baseball team swept Waldorf (11-6, 5-1) Saturday night in Omaha, Nebraska. The Chargers hold a 91-34 run advantage so far this season and hold a record of 9-0. With the two wins today Charger head coach
Corby McGlauflin picked up his 100th career win.
"Today was a great way to start the weekend series," said McGlauflin. "Offensively we were great with two outs, and we received two very well pitched games from our staff."
Jared Sitzmann got the Chargers on the board first in the bottom of the second with a RBI single, scoring
Matthew Hmielewski. Waldorf took the lead in the top of the third with two runs.
Harrison Jestel put the Chargers up 3-2 in the bottom of the inning with a two-run home run to center field.
The lead changed hands again in the top of the fifth when Justin Nock doubled to left field, scoring two Warriors taking a 4-3 lead. With runners on first and third, Sitzmann crossed home plate off a Jestel sacrifice fly.
Darnell Prince reached base on balls and Conner Lange was hit by pitch to load the bases with two outs.
Jake Allen cleared the bases with a double to center field as the Cliff took a 7-4 advantage, and BC added four more insurance runs in the inning.
Wesselmann put down the Warriors 1-2-3 in the top of the sixth, striking out the side. Waldorf tacked on two runs in the seventh, but the Chargers took game one 11-6.
Wesselmann (3-0) picks up the win for the Cliff, tossing a complete game giving up three earned runs while striking out eight. Sitzmann, Allen, and Jestel recorded two hits and three RBIs apiece to lead the Blue and Gold.
Dalen Blair took the mound in game two and delivered for the Chargers, allowing one run in 6.0 innings of work. Waldorf scored the first run of the ballgame in the top of the second inning, but Blair was able to escape the inning stranding the Warrior runner on second base.
The Warrior lead did not last long, as the Cliff put up five runs in the bottom of the second.

Dawson Forcella to take a 2-1 lead. The Chargers tacked on three more insurance runs.
Blair improves to 2-0 on the season, allowing seven hits and striking out seven.
Austin Carter relieved Blair in the seventh inning and allowed just one base runner in the final inning. Federico led the Cliff with two hits and stole one base.
The Chargers will be back in action tomorrow with another doubleheader against Waldorf in Omaha, Nebraska. Game one is set to start at 12 p.m. with game two to follow.
