The Briar Cliff football team returns to action Saturday afternoon, hosting the Waldorf Warriors for Homecoming and Family weekend. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.

SCOUTING THE CHARGERS
Briar Cliff enters Saturday's match-up looking to get back in the win column after having this past weekend off.

Through four games, the Chargers have totaled 1217 yards of offense, averaging 304.3 yards per game. BCU has recorded 350 rushing yards and 867 passing yards while finding the end zone seven times.

Quarterback Brock Saya has completed 66-of-127 passes for 867 yards and seven touchdowns through the first four games. Saya has also contributed 28 rushing yards on the season.

Chase Thomas has paced the Charger rushing attack with 179 yard on 52 carries, while Kymani Fleurme leads Briar Cliff's receiving corps with 219 yards on 13 catches for three touchdowns. Ezra Heiner has added 210 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Cameron Cayou leads the Chargers with 35 total tackles, followed by Tegen Hoffman with 33. Jayden Botterill has added 22. Botterill also has an interception on the season.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
Waldorf enters Saturday's match-up with a 0-5 overall record and in GPAC play. Their most recent loss came at the hands of the Doane Tigers.

The Warriors are averaging 233.2 yards of total offense per game, including 153.6 passing yards and 79.6 rushing yards. Waldorf has scored 62 points through five games while averaging 12.4 points per contest

Quarterback Jackson Clavel has completed 39-of-87 passes for 401 yards and two touchdowns. Elijah Martinez has also thrown for the Warriors completing 21-of-39 passes for 226 yards.

Jorge Rivera has been a key target in the Warrior passing attack, recording 15 receptions for 194 yards. Christian Broy has also contributed 164 receiving yards and thwo touchdowns on 16 catches.

On the ground, Ory Vananda-Walker leads Waldorf with 269 rushing yards on 62 carries and two touchdowns. Martinez has also added 67 yards.

Defensively, Luke Beyer leads the Warriors with 52 tackles followed by Delkarai Davis with 47 tackles. 

THE LAST TIME OUT
In their September meeting of last year, the Chargers won 28-12 in Forest City, IA.

The Chargers were led by Thomas who ran for 120 yards, followed by Heiner who had five catches and 45 yards in the win.

Saya threw 17-for-23 on the day for 124 total yards.
