Cormyc Guerrero of the Charger football team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Sioux City Riverfront Briar Cliff Athlete of the Week following an electric performance in Briar Cliff's 38-7 Homecoming victory over Waldorf.

Guerrero, a freshman from Georgetown, Texas, made a major impact in the return game, scoring two touchdowns on special teams.

Guerrero opened the game with a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown before adding a 75-yard punt return for another score finishing with 173 return yards on the afternoon. His performance helped the Chargers cruise to a 38-7 victory over the Warriors and their first win on the season.
