Kyle Gibson of the Charger football team was named Week 5: GPAC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance.
 
Gibson, a sophomore from Magnolia, Texas, forced three turnovers in the Chargers 21-7 Homecoming win over the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers.
 
Gibson forced two fumbles and recovered one fumble in the contest. He also recorded an interception in the redzone to prevent the Tigers from scoring. Gibson finished second on the team in tackles with eight including four solos.
 
The Chargers will travel to Sioux Center, Iowa to take on the Dordt Defenders. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
