Avery Beller of the Charger volleyball team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Sioux City Riverfront Briar Cliff Athlete of the Week after an outstanding performance at the Siouxland Invitational.

Beller anchored the Charger defense as Briar Cliff opened the season with a 2-2 record. The senior libero totaled 96 digs across four matches, averaging 6.0 digs per set, while also adding five assists.

Beller posted three 20+ dig performances on the weekend, highlighted by 29 digs against Governors State and 28 versus Dickinson State. She wrapped up the tournament with 14 digs against William Penn, extending her streak of a double-digit dig performance to four straight matches.

The Chargers will return to action this weekend in Oskaloosa, Iowa, for the William Penn Tournament.
