The Charger baseball team dropped their doubleheader against Arizona Christian Saturday evening.
Game One, L – 4-26,
The Chargers struck first in the top of the first, as
Rance Bryant led off the contest with a walk and
Diego Trujillo recorded a single to put runners in scoring position with no outs.
Nico Sall recorded a RBI double to card the game's first run.
The Firestorm responded 11 runs in the bottom of the first.
In the top of the second, Bryant launched a two-run blast over left field to cut the lead to 3-11.
Nico Sall launched a solo home run in the top of the fourth to cap off the scoring for the Chargers.
Game Two, L – 1-9,
Cade Marquardt broke up the Fire Storm's no hitter in the top of the fourth, recording a double. The Chargers were unable to capitalize with the runner in scoring position, and Marquardt was stranded at second.
In the top of the seventh,
Johnny Reed recorded a RBI single to drive in
Cam Riemer.
Trey Tarver of the Firestorm took the win on the mound, pitching five innings while striking out 10.
The Chargers fall to 4-5, and will take on Ottawa University of Arizona Monday at 6 p.m. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.
