CHARGERS START OUTDOOR SEASON ON ROAD

VERMILLION, S.D. – The Briar Cliff University women's outdoor track & field team opened the season at the USD Early Bird.

"Getting the first meet under our belt is always a plus. You see where the most work needs to be put in for the future meets," said Assistant Coach Chandler Cork. "Today showed some really good potential for multiple athletes and a great start to day one of the USD Early Bird meet. Tomorrow with the weather should be a good test to see what we can do and face some adversity with the weather not being perfect."

Briar Cliff had a strong outing with five PR's.  Junior Morgan Jones recorded personal best in the discus (90 feet, 11 inches) and the Javelin (100 feet, six inches).

Additional PR's came from junior Jade Mammen in the discus, senior Veronica Pitzl in the javelin and freshman Sophie Ruden in the 400-meter hurdles.

Briar Cliff closes out the USD Early Bird, Saturday, Apr. 6.
