SIOUX CITY, Iowa – 54 Briar Cliff University student-athletes were named as 2024 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for fall sports.
To qualify as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year.
Football led the way with 21 honorees. Women's soccer and volleyball had 13 each, men's soccer had five and men's and women's cross country had one each.
Brett Tinker was named a Scholar-Athlete for the fourth time in his career. 3-time honorees were Kiersten Baker (volleyball), Anesa Davenport (volleyball), Luke Davies (football), Kellen Murphy (football) and Taryn Nothem (volleyball).
13 Chargers were named for the second time with 35 first-time recipients.
