WAGNER PLACES 11TH IN SHOT PUT AT NATIONALS

Hope Wagner made her second straight appearance at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships Thursday in Marion, Indiana. Wagner placed 11th in the event, missing an eighth place and All-American finish by . 22 meters.
 
"Hope had a great Nationals and just fell short of All-American placing 11th," said head coach Scott Barnes. "It was an incredibly talented field, and I couldn't be prouder of her performance and accomplishments this year! We know it's only going to get better from here with her continuing progress in the shot put!"
 
Wagner improved in each throw, starting with a 12.17-meter mark and jumped to a 12.92m mark after her second attempt. Wagner nearly met her season best (13.90m) in her third throw, posting a 13.76m throw.

She was the second highest GPAC athlete in the shot put, as Claire Caspersen from College of Saint Mary finished fifth.
 
Wagner also placed 11th in the 2022 Outdoor National Championships with a throw of 13.25m a season ago.
