The Briar Cliff track and field teams competed at the Concordia Twilight Friday night in Seward, Nebraska. The meet was delayed by nearly four hours due to a lightning delay.
"Suspect weather but had some great performances," said head coach Scott Barnes. "
Dominic Archer ran a lifetime best in the 100 of 10.64, along with
Tulsa Janish running a lifetime best of 10.82. Our relay, after a long delay, still ran a great time of 41.60 and it was good to see that consistency.
Osiel Ochoa ran his best ever 400 with a time of 50.10."
Archer hit his new PR in the 100 during the prelims, posting a time of 10.64. He took fourth in the event after running a 10.92 in the finals. Janish just missed qualifying for the finals, taking ninth in the prelims at 10.84.
The Charger 4x100 made up of Janish, Archer,
Brayden Ingraham and
Joshua Miller grabbed a third-place finish with a mark of 41.63 seconds.
Archer was ninth in the 200-meter with a time of 22.22, while Ochoa finished 10th at 22.47. Ochoa was seventh in the 400 at 50.11 seconds, while
Colin Rhynalds ran a 17.43 in the 110m hurdles for 16th.
Hope Wagner threw in the shot put and the discus, taking fifth and 16th, respectively. She had a mark of 13.10m in the shotput and 35.26m in the discus.
Isabel Sayler matched her season best jump of 10.84m in the triple jump and placed fifth.
Briar Cliff will be represented by
Hope Wagner and the Charger 4x100 team of Janish, Archer, Ingraham and Miller at the NAIA National Championships on May 24-26 on the Campus of Indiana Wesleyan in Marion, Indiana.
