The Briar Cliff football team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2023 season. The Chargers host three games at home in the month of October and five overall at Memorial Field.
 
The Chargers will play five home games next year against Hastings (Sept. 23), Doane (Oct. 7), Northwestern (Oct. 14), Dakota Wesleyan (Oct. 21) and Morningside (Nov. 11). Briar Cliff will celebrate Homecoming on October 21 when the team hosts Dakota Wesleyan on Memorial Field.
 
Briar Cliff will be on the road for four of their first five contests to start the season. The Chargers travel to Forest City, Iowa for their season opening game against Waldorf on August 26. The Chargers and Warriors have met in their season openers every year, except for the 2020 season (COVID), since the 2016 season. The all-time series is tied at 4-4, but the Warriors hold a 3-1 record all-time on Bolstorff Field.
 
Briar Cliff plays their first three games on the road before their bye week on September 16. They open at Memorial Field on September 23 against Hastings. Briar Cliff concludes the regular season on November 11 against Morningside.

The Chargers added 36 recruits on national signing day, signing 18 players from Iowa, five from Colorado and five combined from Nebraska and South Dakota. The full national signing day release can be found HERE.
