Signing day Central

The Briar Cliff football team announced the signing of 40 student-athletes to the 2023 recruiting class. The list includes 17 from the state of Iowa, five from Colorado and six combined from South Dakota and Nebraska. 

"I want to start out by thanking our entire football staff. They worked tirelessly to recruit the right kind of guys to our program and University," said head coach Shane LaDage. "I'm proud of their work and passion for BCU. I'd also like to thank our athletic department, our admissions staff, and all our faculty who go out of their way to help build our program. We set our sights on adding size and athleticism to our roster in this class, and so far, we have accomplished that. Additionally, we wanted to continue to add strong students to our program, and we have done that with this class averaging well over a 3.0 GPA. We were able to fill some immediate needs with a handful of mid-year transfers that have already adjusted well to life on the Cliff and have made an impact. On offense, we have added size and physicality up front, and I am really excited about the variety of skill players we have coming in. On defense, we addressed some immediate needs along the defensive line that I believe will elevate our level of play come fall. The linebacker and defensive back groups have added a great deal of length and athleticism that will create a lot of competition during fall camp. We have one specialist in this class that will help elevate an already talented group. Although we aren't quite done yet, we are only a few men away from having what will be our most complete signing class going into our third season here on the Cliff."
 
The Chargers added 20 players to offense, 19 players to the defensive unit and signed one special teams specialist. On defense, the Cliff brought in eight defensive backs, seven defensive linemen and four linebackers. Briar Cliff adds six wide receivers, five offensive linemen, two tight ends, four running backs, two fullback and a quarterback on offense.
