The Briar Cliff softball program is has announced the signing of Alyssa Bauer to the 2021 squad.

Bauer is a pitcher and comes to Briar Cliff with an extensive background as a multi-sport athlete. At Platte Valley High School in Colorado, Bauer was a four-year varsity letter recipient for softball, track, academics, and honor choir. Bauer also was the 2018 and 2019 Platte Valley Defensive Player of The Year as well as a 2019 FBLA National Competitor and 2016-2018 FBLA State Competitor. 
 
"Alyssa is the type of student-athlete all coaches love to have in their programs," said coach Erin Bly. "She is a wonderful individual who will instantly bring her leadership ability to the squad. She has such a bright future here and I look forward to see how she progresses."
 
Bauer chose the Cliff because of all the environment, academic offerings and coaching staff at BCU.

"After visiting Briar Cliff I put a lot of thought into my decision," said Bauer. "The campus environment and the softball coaching staff made all the difference in my decision.  I felt welcomed and knew that not only would I receive a great education, but I would be able to advance my skills as an athlete in a challenging and supportive environment.

Bauer hopes to improve her skills as an athlete and contribute to building a winning program at Briar Cliff. She plans to major in business.
