The Briar Cliff men's golf team opened competition at the Blue River Classic Wednesday, competing in the first round of action.

The Chargers finished the opening round in seventh place with a team score of +13.

Thomas Goetz led the Chargers individually, carding a 75(+3) to sit tied for 29th. Logan Collette also posted a 75 (+3), finishing the opening round tied for 41st.

Wongsakorn Fankumsai finished his first round at even par with a 72, placing him tied for 32nd. Braden Fleischman carded an 80 (+8) and sits tied for 60th, while Alfie Henderson rounded out the Charger lineup with a 79 (+7), putting him tied for 73rd.

The Chargers will return to the course tomorrow for the second round of the Blue River Classic.
