The Briar Cliff women's golf team wrapped up competition at the Mount Marty Fall Invite on Tuesday, finishing inside the top five as a team with a two-round score of 683.
The Chargers posted a 345 in the opening round before improving to a 338 in Tuesday's final round. Lucy Carter led the way individually, finishing inside the top 15 with rounds of 80 and 86 for a 166 total.
Isabella McNaughton followed with a top-25 finish, carding rounds of 86 and 85 for a 171 total.
"We had a couple highlights from today. Proud of Emma Erickson for bouncing back from her first-round woes. Thirteen-stroke improvement with room for a few more! She fought the good fight today," head coach Ben Irlbeck said. "Kate Wahman had a late round push with a strong final nine finish. Lucy played solidly both days to finish top 15. Izzy was most consistent with 86-85, putting her in the top 25."
"Kianah Alvarez and Madison Bushkofsky both showed great stretches of golf, and I expect them to only improve their play going forward. I have a lot of confidence with their potential this season! Look for great things to come!"
The Chargers will return to action on September 8, at the Siouxland Invite in Orange City, Iowa.
