The Charger track and field team put another strong performance together Wednesday in Yankton, South Dakota at the Mount Marty Twilight. Several Chargers hit new personal bests in the meet.
Devondra Sands put rewrote the 100-meter hurdle record again, clocking a time of 14.55 and finishing third in the event. She finished eighth in the 200-meter with a time of 25.91.
In the field events,
Caitlin Anderholm recorded a season-best throw of 28.92 meters in the javelin, while
Kristen Mika notched a personal record in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 39.10 meters. On the men's side,
Blake Hogancamp posted a personal best of 44.44 meters in the discus, and Connor Antonio added a PR in the javelin with a throw of 35.15 meters.
The Chargers also saw several strong performances on the track.
Colin Rhynalds clocked a personal-best time of 24.68 seconds in the men's 200 meters.
Jayson Rucker turned in a pair of PR efforts, finishing the 200 meters in 22.30 and the 100 meters in 11.06. David Usti-Grinde added to the list with personal-best times of 11.50 in the 100 meters and 23.48 in the 200 meters.
The Charger track and field team will return to action on May 1-2 to compete in the GPAC Conference Championships in Fremont, Nebraska.
