The Briar Cliff track and field team returned to competition April 10–11 at the Sioux City Relays, highlighted by a record-breaking performance on the women's side at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
Devondra Sands set a new school record in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 14.56 seconds to secure a fourth-place finish and a personal best.
Caitlin Anderholm added an eighth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 26.97 meters, while Kristen Mika posted a top mark of 10.30 meters in the shot put.
On the men's side, Blake Hogancamp led the Chargers in the field events with a ninth-place finish in the shot put at 14.60 meters. Colin Rhynalds placed 10th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.75 seconds, and Jayson Rucker recorded a 19th-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 22.77.
Briar Cliff returns to action April 17–18 at the Red Raider Open in Orange City, Iowa.
