The Charger baseball team split their doubleheader against the Midland Warriors Sunday, winning game one 10-5, before falling 7-8 in extra innings in game two.

Game One – W, 10-5
Trailing by one heading into the top of the fourth,
Johnny Reed reached base after being hit by a pitch followed by Cam Reimer drawing a walk. Raenan Pqdilla reached on a fielder's 'choice and the Chargers had runners at the corners with one out. An RBI single from
Connor Neubeck tied the game at 1-1. The Chargers took a 2-1 lead shortly after following an error from the Warriors.

The Charger offense caught fire in the top of the fifth, scoring six runs in the inning. A RBI double from
Cade Marquardt followed by a three-run shot from Reed put the Chargers ahead by five.
Grant Devecsery's RBI double put the Chargers up 8-1.

A solo shot from Devecsery in the top of the seventh put the Chargrs up 10-5 in the final inning.

Cade Nelson got the win on the mound, pitching a complete game allowing just four earned runs on six hits while recording seven strikeouts.

Game two – L, 7-8
Â
The Warriors took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. In the top of the third, back-to-back doubles from
Jake Chronic and
Diego Trujillo put runners on second and third with no outs. A infield RBI single from
Rance Bryant carded the Chargers first run of the game.

In the top of the fourth, Trujillo's RBI single cut the Warrior lead to one. A Bryant single set up
Cade Marquardt's three-run homer to put BCU up 5-3. The Warriors responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning to regain a 6-5 lead.

In the top of the sixth, a RBI double from Trujillo and a RBI single from Bryant put the Chargers up 7-6. The Warriors in the bottom of the eighth scored on a RBI sac fly to tie the game.

In the bottom of the 11
th, the Warriors scored on a throwing error to steal game two 8-7.

The Cliff move to 13-18 (6-10 GPAC) and will host the Hasting Broncos for a four game series next weekend at the Bishop Mueller Complex. Game one is slated for Friday at 1 p.m.
