CHARGERS STUMBLE AGAINST BULLDOGS

The Charger baseball team dropped their doubleheader to the 22nd ranked Concordia Bulldogs Monday in Seward, Nebraska.

Game one – L, 0-1

Locked in a pitcher's duel, Cade Nelson started the game tossing four scoreless innings. Nelson pitched all six innings, allowing just one earned run on four hits while recording two strikeouts. The Bulldogs broke the scoring tie in the bottom of the fourth following a one out RBI single to center field.

The Chargers' Rance Bryant put the Chargers in scoring position in the top of the first with a one out double to right center. The Bulldogs stranded Bryant at second, recording the remaining outs in order.

In the top of the third, Cy Patterson and Damon Schmid drew walks to have runners at first and second with no outs. The Bulldogs again escaped the jam to strand a runner. In the top of the fourth Cade Marquardt recorded a one out single. The Bulldog's Alexander Johnson forced two flyouts to get out of the inning.
