The Charger baseball team dropped their doubleheader to the 22
nd ranked Concordia Bulldogs Monday in Seward, Nebraska.

Game one – L, 0-1
Â
Locked in a pitcher's duel,
Cade Nelson started the game tossing four scoreless innings. Nelson pitched all six innings, allowing just one earned run on four hits while recording two strikeouts. The Bulldogs broke the scoring tie in the bottom of the fourth following a one out RBI single to center field.

The Chargers'
Rance Bryant put the Chargers in scoring position in the top of the first with a one out double to right center. The Bulldogs stranded Bryant at second, recording the remaining outs in order.

In the top of the third,
Cy Patterson and
Damon Schmid drew walks to have runners at first and second with no outs. The Bulldogs again escaped the jam to strand a runner. In the top of the fourth
Cade Marquardt recorded a one out single. The Bulldog's Alexander Johnson forced two flyouts to get out of the inning.

Game two – L, 1-9
Â
In the top of the first,
Nico Sall recorded a two out double to center field. Sall capitalized on an error from the Bulldogs and carded the game's first run.

The Bulldogs would score nine unanswered runs to take a 9-1 lead.

In the top of the fourth Sall would draw a walk with one out. CUNE would record the next to outs to strand Sall at first.

Concordia's Braxton Greenburg tossed 6.1 innings and allowed just one hit while recording eight strikeouts.

Johnny Reed for The Cliff tossed two innings and recorded four strikeouts.

The Cliff move to 12-15 (5-7 GPAC) and will return to Bishop Mueller Complex this Saturday as they host the Warriors of Midland. Game one is slated for 1 p.m. with game two to follow shortly after. The Chargers will then travel to Fremont, Nebraska for a doubleheader with the Warriors the following day.
