An electric offense propelled the Charger baseball team to a sweep over the Doane Tigers Friday at the Bishop Mueller Complex.

Game one – W, 15-9

The Tigers jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first. In the bottom of the inning,
Diego Trujillo blasted one over the left field wall to quickly tie the game.

Doane carded three runs in the next half inning to regain a 4-1 lead. In the bottom of the inning,
Cam Riemer led off with a double to left field followed by a
Raenan Padilla walk to put runners on first and second with no outs.

With two outs, a
Damon Schmid RBI single set off a nine-run inning for the Chargers. Trujillo's two RBI double to right center field tied the contest. A
Nico Sall RBI single coupled with a RBI single from
Cade Marquardt put the Chargers up 6-4. With the bases loaded, Padilla hit a bases clearing double to right field to put the Chargers up 9-4.
Grant Devecsery's RBI single put the Cliff up 10-4 after two innings.

The Charger bats stayed hot the next inning, with Marquardt posting a two RBI double followed by a Riemer RBI sac fly tp put the Chargers up 13-0.

In the bottom of the fourth, a RBI ground out from Bryant followed by a RBI triple from Sall increased the lead to 15-6.

Owen Lester tossed the final 2.2 innings, allowing just two hits and recording two strikeouts.

Game two – W. 13-3
Â
Nick Hay took the win on the mound for the Chargers in game two, tossing eight innings while allowing just three runs on eight hits while recording four strikeouts.

The Tigers took an early 2-0 lead in the first two innings. In the bottom of the second a Padilla double turned into a run following a Devescery RBI double.
Cy Patterson's RBI double to center field put the Chargers up 3-2.

In the bottom of the third, a two RBI triple from Riemer setup a two-run blast from Devescery to put BC up 7-2.

Back-to-back solo shots from Bryant and Sall in the bottom of the fourth increased the lead to seven.

Leading 10-3 heading into the bottom of the eighth, a two RBI infield single from Trujillo put the Chargers up 12-3. A RBI single to left center field from Bryant put the Chargers up 13-3 and enforced the run rule.

The Cliff move to 12-13 (5-5 GPAC) and will travel to Seward, Nebraska to take on the Concordia Bulldogs on Sunday. Game one is slated for 1 p.m. with game two to follow shortly after.
