The Charger wrestling team had two student-athletes be named National Wrestling Coaches Association NAIA Men's Scholar All-Americans in a release Friday afternoon. Freshman Erik Lessears and Calex Banta earned Scholar All-American honors in their first season at The Cliff.
 
Lessears, a freshman from Helena, Alabama, is majoring in accounting. Lessears recorded 15 wins for the Chargers this past season, including four tech falls, four pins, and 10 bonus point victories. Lessears finished second at the Doane Open.
 
Banta, a freshman from Sioux City, Iowa, is majoring in computer science. Banta recorded two wins this past season by pin.
