Dante Rigal and
Jarrod Gilliam placed third in the GPAC Wrestling Championships after the conclusion of the second day of the tournament.
Rigal dropped his first match of the day against Doane's Brian Peck, before earning a pin over Noah Thorsen of Morningside. In the third-place match, Rigal won by pin over Tukker Boe of Dakota Wesleyan.
Gilliam lost a 16-10 decision to Hastings' Justin Rodriguez to open the day. He responded with a pin over Morningside's Christian Ahren. Gilliam won a narrow 6-4 decision over fellow Charger
Dariuz Black.
Black finished fourth in the tournament and in the consolation semi-final, won by pin over Bryce Karlin of Concordia.
Jackson Balmer placed fifth in the tournament after defeating Israel Manriquez of Hastings via pin.
Ethan Gregg placed sixth in the tournament and fell to Esteban Sedano of Hastings in the fifth-place match.
The Chargers finished sixth overall in the tournament with a total score of 65.5 points.
Briar Cliff will now look towards the NAIA Wrestling Championship in Park, Kansas March 6-8.
