The Charger track and field competed in the GPAC Track and Field Championships in Mitchell, South Dakota Saturday.
Â
"Very tough competition once again at the GPAC championships.
Wilton George did what he does best and although didn't take the position he would have liked to, he still had a very good day of competition in the 60m, 60mH, 200m and the 4x4," said Head Coach Chandler Cork. Â "
Jalen Cook and
Daryl Moppins ended up running against only each other in the 200 m dash and performed very well to finish their indoor season. Our last event was the 4x4 and we haven't ran it all year, so we threw one together for conference and ended up taking 7th place from Heat 1 so I am looking forward to what these guys are going to do this outdoor season."
Â
Wilton George finished 3
rd in the 60-meter dash, recording a 6.91 in the finals. George also hit the NAIA "B" Standard in the 60-meter hurdles with a 8.10. George placed third in the 200-meter run with a mark of 22.30

Maria Russell, our lone girl, competed very well in her only race of the day, the mile. She didn't quite come close to the time she wished to run either, but Maria has set herself up very well to have a really productive and successful outdoor season!" said Cork
