Zak Rachow of the Charger football team was named AFCA All-American second team in a release Thursday morning.

"Everyone in our program is proud of Zak and his accomplishments this fall! The AFCA All-American team is the most prestigious honor, as it is voted on by the coaches, and Zak proved throughout the year that he is one of the best players in the country!" said Head Coach
Shane LaDage. "Not only is Zak a great player, but he's a great teammate, student, and member of our community! It's not a coincident that we had our best season in program history with Zak anchoring our offensive line!"

Rachow, a junior from Otay Ranch, California, started all 11 games for the Chargers at left tackle this past season, anchoring a Charger offense that averaged 304.9 yards a game and 215 yards through the air per contest.

In seven games this season, the offense went over 300 yards of total offense seven times with a season-high 394 yards against Morningside and Concordia.

Rachow becomes the Chargers 5
th All-American in program history.
