Maria Russell of the Charger cross country team was named Hilton Garden Inn Sioux City Riverfront Briar Cliff Athlete of the Week for her performance at the GPAC Championships in Ashland, Nebraska last weekend.
 
Russell, a senior from Remsen, Iowa, set a program record in the 6K with a mark of 24:22.58.
 
The Chargers will now look towards the indoor track and field season, beginning on December 5 at the Wildcat Opener in Wayne, Nebraska.
