The Briar Cliff cross country teams competed at their home meet, the Briar Cliff Invite Saturday afternoon at the Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve in North Sioux City, South Dakota.
"Had a great day today. Juan, Daron, Raoul had big personal bests and are getting close to our all-time top 10! Caleb and Connor had great personal best times as well," said head coach Scott Barnes. "Our women pretty much across the board had their best 6k times ever and we were led by Lexis race. We are excited to get some good work done and finish the season with one more race before conference!"
With nearly 350 athletes in competition for each race, the Charger woman were paced in the 6k race by Lexi Weber with a time of 26:58.89. Maria Russell followed behind with a time of 27:58.42 and Pluma Pross ran a 28:45.72. Rylee Antonino finished with a time of 29:21.02, while Jalen Pike ran a 30:56.11 to round up the BC runners.
Juan Celio led the men's team with a time of 28:04.64, followed by Daron Jackson at 28:24.14. Raoul Ramos finished his 8k in 28:36.89 and Kenny Nolan ran a 30:37.49.
Caleb Sassman paced a time of 31:57.75, while Connor Antonino had a 32:16.50. Jalen Cook and Moises Lupercio closed out the race with times of 35:25.27 and 35:30.33.
The Chargers' next race is on October 21st at the Flaming Tiger NAIA Classic in Ashland, Nebraska.
