Jaxson Wingert of the Charger men's basketball team was named Hilton Garden Inn Sioux City Riverfront Briar Cliff Athlete of the Week for his performance against the Mount Mercy Mustangs.
 
Wingert, a sophomore from Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, scored a career-high 30 points on 10-for-18 shooting while recording eight rebounds in the win last Friday. Wingert also went 8-for-11 from the free throw line.
 
The Chargers will head to Winona Lake, Indiana this Friday to take on Huntington University. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
