Hope Wagner throwing shot put at 2022 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships

WAGNER QUALIFIES FOR NAIA NATIONALS

VERMILLION, S.D. – Senior Hope Wagner qualified for the NAIA National Championships as the Briar Cliff University women's outdoor track & field team closed out the USD Early Bird.

In the shot put, Wagner placed third with a toss of 44 feet, 10.25 inches.  That mark hit the NAIA "A" Standard.

In the 100-meter hurdles, freshman Devonda Sands finished ninth at 14.96.  That mark broke the school record of 15.04 set back in 2000 by Sharline Maxwell.

Senior Isabel Sayler jumped 35 feet, 7.75 inches to finish eighth in the triple jump.

Freshman Sophie Ruden and Sands had personal bests in the 200m dash.

Briar Cliff stays home, Friday, Apr. 12 competing in the Sioux City Relays.  The meet is at crosstown rival, Morningside College.
