CHARGERS HIT THE TRIFECTA

MADISON, S.D. - Freshman Devonda Sands, senior Isabel Sayler and senior Hope Wagner had first place finishes as the Briar Cliff University women's outdoor track & field team competed at the Dakota Twilight. The Chargers had nine top eight finishes.

Sands ran 14.83 to win the 100-meter hurdles. She broke the school record she set earlier in the season at 14.96.

Salyer had a PR of 37 feet, 3.75 inches to capture the triple jump. That is the second longest jump in BCU history.

Wagner took the shot put with a toss of 44 feet, 9.50 inches.

Additional top eight performances came from sophomore Sophie Ruden in the 400 hurdles (2^nd – 1:13.57), sophomore Maria Russell in the 1500 (4^th – 5:56.95), sophomore Rylee Antonino in the 400 (5^th – 1:14.71), senior Veronica Pitzl in the javelin (5^th – 103 feet, three inches), senior Lexi Weber in the 1500 (5^th – 6:03.05) and junior Morgan Jones in the discus (6^th – 102 feet).

Briar Cliff hits the road, Friday, Apr. 26 to compete at the Drake Relays. The meet is in Des Moines, Iowa.
