The Briar Cliff track and field teams competed in Sioux City, Iowa Friday at the Sioux City Relays. The day was highlighted by a pair of second place finishes for
Isabel Sayler and
Dominic Archer.

Day two of the Sioux City Relays was canceled due to the projected weather forecast.

"It's unfortunate we won't be compete tomorrow, but we had some good results today," said head coach Scott Barnes. "Ociel Ochoa had an amazing race in the 400, along with
Tulsa Janish in the 100. Dominic and Tulsa both made the finals in the 100 but unfortunately won't be able to run it with the cancelation. Isabel had another great day as well in her triple jump. Rob Amaro had a huge breakthrough running 1:58 in the 800! We hope for good weather and a full meet next week at Northwestern!"

Dominic Archer placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.75, 0.03 seconds off his fastest time this spring, which he set last meet at the USD Early Bird. Archer also competed in the 200m, posting a time of 22.71 seconds.

Isabel Sayler jumped a 10.84 in the triple jump, her best mark of the outdoor season, to take second.

Joshua Miller finished ninth with a time of 10.91 in the 100m, while Janish was 10th at 11.00. Miller placed 8th in the 200 at 22.31 and was followed by Janish's time of 22.55 and
Osiel Ochoa's 22.69. Ochoa also raced in the 400, placing fourth with a mark of 50.77 seconds.

In the field events,
Hope Wagner had a throw of 37.06 in the discus and placed 10th.

Maria Russell and
Lexi Weber finished third and fourth in the 5,000-meter run with times of 23:15.25 and 23:34.68, respectively.
Pluma Pross finished in 2:37.30 in the 800, while on the men's side
Robert Amaro was 11th with a time of 1:58.41.
Colin Rhynalds was 12th in the 110 hurdles at 17.28, while TyJana Gardner posted a 13.87 in the 100.

With day two of the Sioux City Relays canceled, the Chargers will next be in action next Friday and Saturday at the Red Raider Invite in Orange City, Iowa.
