The Briar Cliff track and field team closed out the South Dakota Challenge Saturday. The Chargers battled windy conditions but still set season PRs, including a new school record from
Ben Jefferies.
"We continued to make great improvements this meet, started off with our throwers hitting season PRs," said head coach
Scott Barnes. "Our women's 4x1 had a season best and ran a great race. Paxon broke a big barrier today by going under 15 seconds in the 110 hurdles. The 4x4 had a season best and are only about 2.5 seconds off of qualifying. To get that close to a national qualifying standard with today's conditions, shows how amazing of a race they had today. The wind made most of our events tougher to set season PRs, and it shows how tough and competitive this group is!"
Jasmine Joseph ran a 13.31 100-meter dash and
Ariyah Williams finished in 13.49. Vereen ran her 400-meter at 1:06.21. Pross finished in 1:08.79 and Weber had a time of 1:14.33.
