Three Charger track and field athletes competed in the first day of the Red Raider Open Wednesday in Orange City, Iowa.
"Despite the weather our 3 athletes did real well today," said head coach
Scott Barnes. "We hope the wind can die down tomorrow so we can get some good marks on day two!"
Lexus Mosbrucker finished second in the javelin throw. Her first throw of the day was her best at 35.48 meters.
Moises Lupercio ran in the 5000 meter run and took seventh with a time of 18:36.93 seconds.
Caleb Sassman's best javelin throw was good for a 14th place finish at 22.28 meters.
The rest of the Charger track and field athletes will be in action tomorrow for day two of the Red Raider Open.
