Ignacio Barrios of the Charger men's soccer team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Sioux City Riverfront Briar Cliff Athlete of the Week following a strong performance over the Chargers' last two matches.

Barrios, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, played a key role in Briar Cliff's offensive efforts against Judson University and Hastings College.

The freshman forward recorded one goal and one assist over the two-game stretch. Barrios registered a shot on goal in each match, scoring the game-winning goal against Hastings. He also recorded an assist against Judson.

Barrios finished the two-game stretch with two shots, both on target, while playing 91 total minutes for the Chargers. His goal against Hastings helped Briar Cliff secure a 2-1 victory over the Broncos.

The Chargers will return to action Wednesday, September 23, hosting Morningside University. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
