The Briar Cliff men's soccer team rallied for a 2-1 victory over Hastings College Saturday evening at Faber Field, opening GPAC play with a win.
After a scoreless first half, Hastings struck first in the 59th minute when Tomas Gonzalez found the back of the net.
The Chargers quickly responded as
Tobias Noack scored in the 63rd minute off an assist from
Mario Granjo, leveling the match at 1-1.Â
BCU took the lead in the 71st minute when
Ignacio Barrios scored an unassisted goal, giving the Chargers a 2-1 advantage they would hold through the final whistle.Â
The Chargers finished with 12 shots, putting eight on target, while Hastings recorded 13 shots and five on frame.Â
Lucas Attanasio made four saves in goal to secure the victory.Â
Noack and Barrios each finished with a goal, while Granjo added an assist.
Alejandro Illan and
Ruben Figueroa each recorded two shots on goal.Â
The Chargers return to action Wednesday, September 23, hosting Morningside for more GPAC action. Kick-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
