MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO MORNINGSIDE

The Briar Cliff men's soccer team fell 3-1 to Morningside University Wednesday evening at Faber Field, moving to 4-4-0 and 1-1-0 in GPAC play.

The Chargers struck first in the 33rd minute when David Sauter found the back of the net, giving Briar Cliff a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
 
Morningside answered early in the second half, tying the match in the 50th minute before taking a 2-1 lead in the 67th minute. The Mustangs added another goal in the 76th minute to extend their advantage to 3-1. 

Briar Cliff recorded 14 shots with eight on target. Lucas Attanasio made eight saves in goal for the Chargers. 

Sauter led the Chargers with a goal and three shots, while Tobias Noack added three shots, including two on goal.

The Chargers return to action on Saturday, September 26, heading to Fremont, NE to take on the Midland Warriors. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
