The Briar Cliff women's soccer team fell 2-0 to the Bellevue University Bruins Tuesday evening in Bellevue, Nebraska.
Bellevue broke through in the 31st minute when Maddy Morgia scored to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Bruins added to their advantage early in the second half, with Adi Kasel finding the back of the net in the 52nd minute to make it 2-0.
Caitlin Anderholm kept the Chargers within reach throughout the match, recording 10 saves. Briar Cliff finished with six shots, including two on target, while
Ondine Manceau and
Angelina Saade each recorded a shot on goal.
Bellevue held a 22-6 advantage in shots, while the Chargers earned three corner kicks to Bellevue's zero.
The Chargers return to action this Saturday, September 19, hosting Hastings for their first GPAC match-up. Kickoff is set for 1 pm.
