The Charger men's soccer team fell 4-1 to the Judson University Eagles Tuesday afternoon in Elgin, Illinois.
Judson opened the scoring in the 19th minute, but the Chargers quickly answered when
Mario Granjo found the back of the net in the 28th minute off an assist from
Ignacio Barrios, tying the match at 1-1.
The Eagles regained the lead in the 33rd minute, taking a 2-1 advantage going into halftime. Judson added two goals early in the second half, scoring in the 61st and 63rd minutes to extend its lead to 4-1.
Briar Cliff finished with a 15-11 advantage in shots, including four on target.
Lucas Attanasio recorded five saves in goal, while
Alejandro Illan led the Chargers with five shots. Granjo added two shots and one goal, while Barrios recorded an assist.
The Chargers return to action this Saturday, September 19, hosting Hastings for their GPAC opener. Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm.
