The Charger football team returns to Memorial Field this Saturday as Briar Cliff hosts the Midland Warriors in GPAC action. The Chargers will look to pick up their first conference victory of the season against a Midland team entering the matchup with a 2-0 record. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 pm.

SCOUTING THE CHARGERS
The Charger football team enters Saturday's match up with a 0-2 record after recently falling to Mount Marty on the road.

Through two games, Briar Cliff is averaging 368.0 yards of total offense per game, including 305.5 passing yards and 62.5 rushing yards. The Chargers have totaled 57 points while recording 47 first downs.

Through the air, Briar Cliff has completed 41- of 71 passes for 611 yards and six touchdowns. 

The Chargers have also found success in the passing game, averaging 305.5 yards per contest while recording six passing touchdowns.

Defensively, Briar Cliff has recorded five sacks and two interceptions through the first two games. The Chargers have totaled 117 tackles while holding opponents to 220.0 passing yards per game.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
The Midland Warriors enter Saturday's contest with a perfect 2-0 record and a 1-0 mark in GPAC play.

The Warriors are averaging 322.0 passing yards and 179.0 rushing yards per contest while scoring 50.0 points per game.

The Warriors opened the season with a 31-0 shutout victory over Dickinson State on August 27 before defeating Waldorf 69-10 on September 5.

Midland has totaled 52 first downs per game and is converting 64 percent of its third-down opportunities. The Warriors have also scored on 90 percent of their red-zone opportunities.

Defensively, Midland has recorded five sacks and two interceptions through the first two games while recovering two fumbles.

In their October 2025 meeting the Chargers fell 49-0 to the Warriors. 

Brock Saya completed 12 passes for 81 yards. Chase Thomas led the Rushing game for 52 yards.

For the Warriors Brody Johnson completed 19 passes for 286 yards, while TJ Covington led all scorers with three receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
