Briar Cliff junior Thavichakree Arunmala has been named a 2024-25 NAIA Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Tuesday. Arunmala was Briar Cliff's lone recipient and one of 47 NAIA men's golfers nationwide to earn the distinction.
 

The Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled both in competition and in the classroom.
 

To qualify for the honor, nominees must be sophomores, juniors or seniors academically and athletically, compete in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, maintain a stroke average below 78.0 in NAIA competition, carry a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.2, and demonstrate high moral character while remaining in good standing with their institution.
