The Charger track and field team competed at the Great Plains Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 1-2 in Fremont, Nebraska, turning in several strong performances against conference competition.
Devondra Sands qualified for the finals in the 100-meter hurdles after posting a time of 14.55 seconds in preliminaries. She went on to place sixth overall with a finals time of 15.00 seconds. Sands also competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 26.95 seconds.
Caitlin Anderholm represented the Chargers in the javelin, recording a throw of 27.77 meters.
On the men's side, Blake Hogencamp posted a shot put mark of 13.85 meters while also reaching 36.44 meters in the discus.
Colin Rhylands clocked a time of 16.41 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles.
Jason Rucker finished the 200-meter dash in 22.45 seconds and the 400-meter dash in 50.85 seconds.
